The enterprise was founded in 1936, as the Department of post delivery via rail, air and water ways. During the World War II the Department successfully provided steady post exchange between the front and the rear. During the after-war-years the enterprise’ efforts were aimed at the organization of rational delivery system and control of the periodical and post deliveries movement along the main backbone directions.
At present MCBPD is the federal transport and sorting network, which unites in the integrated system postal objects all over the country and provides processing and delivery of several milliards mailing units per year.
The backbone post delivery routes connect 50 largest cities of Russian Federation. For the delivery own auto vehicles, as well as air transport and railway service are used.

Successful work of MCBPD would be impossible without its qualified team. In the enterprise there are almost 15 thousand employees, 9 of which are granted with the honorary degree «Honorary employee of communication field of Russian Federation» and 124 – the honorary degree «Master of communications of Russian Federation».
